Over the past year I have made a transition in the way I listen to music. I didn’t purchase a single album in the last 365 days, but I have come to love several new artists. With a big thanks to Pandora, Grooveshark and NPR’s “All Songs Considered Live Concert Series” I have not been short of new music. Here is my selection for the best free concert downloads of 2009. I watched The indianapolis colts play the san diego charges tonight. Enough said.

On my way home I stopped in at walmart, and saw this cute old couple sitting in the car next to me.

There must be a carbon monoxide leak in my office, because I have been exhasted all day. It is either that, or lack of sleep. Take a guess as to which it is. I am going to stand firm next to my theory of a slow gas poisoning.

My coworker an I were both feeling the Tuesday drag and grabbed an early coffee at 1:00, but it didn’t seem to have much effect. So, I am all up for suggestions about what to do to spark my energy on a slow day.

Tell me what you like to do for an energy boost in the comments section. If people participate with legitament ideas I will take the top suggestions, try them out, and review then in a future posting.

Welcome to Springfield

This has been a great day. I got up this morning and when kristen got home from work we packed up the car for Springfield IL. It is my honor to be in my friend Jakes wedding tomorrow.

Just in case you are woundering what is between Indianapolis and Springfield here is the list I compiled along the way:

-4 red tail hawks
-more fog than a 1989 prom
-at least 6 demolished guardrails
-2 sets of yellow drums blown to pieces from car hitting them
-2 big rigs run completely off of the road
-4 pro gun poems promoting gunssavelives.com (I have not checked out the site yet)

After checking in to the Springfield Hilton I went and tried out my tux. There were a few things that didn’t fit, but I am confident the tux shop will have it all worked out tomorrow.

Not long after getting back from the tux shop we headed out for the wedding practice. I went well, but it took every minute of 2 hours. Then we were off to dinner, and it was great. The food was great, and it was great to get to know more of Jake’s family.

Through all of this my wife Kristen was wounderful. She was running on about 5 hours of sleep from the last 48, but went along with everything we did with a smile on here face. She is getting some sound sleep right now and I should join her.

There is a lot more of today that i would love to tell, but i am too tired. I will leave you with this picture of Springfield at night from the 22nd floor of the Hilton.

Christmas Eve

I am standing in line on Christmas eve shopping for a wedding gift. Good thing I got my Christmas shopping done early.

Continued: I got what I needed foe the wedding gift and have been getting ready for Christmas with my parents tonight. This will be Christmas number 4. Well, I need to finish getting ready and hit the road.

Waiting at Walmart

Today is the first day of the new season, and winter is clearly making a statement today. Right now it is 5F with a wind chill of -15F.

I am sitting in the walmart parking lot (waiting for my wife, shopping inside), and just as I was typing the last sentence a shopping cart blew (via 40 mile per hour winds) right into our honda. I got out to check the damage and it was a “one in one million” shot. The front bumper of the cart hit the turned front tire of the honda civic, rather that denting the body. See for yourself.

Flickr Bandwagon

So, today I got on a flicker kick and uploaded several photos that I have taken somewhat recently. I was inspired to do so for a few reasons.

First, I recently attained a Nikon D40. It is a blast to use, and I am starting to get the hang of using it on manual mode. Second, I got a new app for my iPhone called pixelpipe. With this app I can upload photos from my iPhone to flickr via magic.

Wishard ER

Well, it is sometime after midnight and I am sitting in the Wishard emergency room. My friend Arch cut his finger while trying to drill through a deer antler. (don’t ask)

I have heard stories about tho place, but I have never been so lucky to experience it. I am not sure why, but there is a very drunk man that was brought here by the police. He is not hurt, but he is very chatty.

A Day Off

I had a dentist appointment this morning. I planned on missing the first half of my day of work, but I would not have made it into the office until 2ish and that seemed a bit pointless, so I missed I am missing the entire day. I feel a little bad for not pre-scheduling the day off, but I don’t suppose anyone can predict the future.

It has actually worked out really well. Kristen and I have not had much time together this week so it is good to catch up before she works this weekend.

So, guess what I am doing. Waiting for a meeting. What joy! There is no better way spend my time.

Aside from my waiting, this has been a good day. I have accomplished more in one Monday than I did last Wed. and Thur, together.

I can’t wait to go home to tacos for dinner, some time with kristen, and watching the colts loose on MNF.

I am over at gene’s apt for MNF. It is half time and you would expect a room full of guys to talk about something manly. Instead we are watching gilmore girls.
